Description

This set of vases was made by the Dutch pottery factory Wed. N.S.A. Brantjes & Co from Purmerend in the period around 1900. The vases are model 510, two bottle-shaped vases with a wide belly and a narrow neck. The vases are 26 cm or 10.2 inch high and 13 cm or 5.1 inch wide. They are painted with a beautiful floral decor in a beautiful colour combination of brown, green, turquoise and yellow. The typical Art Nouveau style elements are striking, such as the whiplash motifs of the branches and the clematis flowers. The vases are signed with the model number: 510, the decor number: DEC B and the signature JZ (painter unknown). One vase is completely intact and the other vase has a little chip on the neck. Unfortunately, this is clearly visible, but can easily be restored.
