Description

This is not a wall charger, but a shallow dish or large plate of 28 cm or 11 inch wide and 4 cm or 1,5 inch high. This dish was made by the Zuid-Holland Pottery Factory from Gouda in The Netherlands in the period 1908-1917. The dish is painted with a beautiful decoration of tiger lilies in orange and brown against a white background with green details. This is the so-called NP decor, number PBL03, which is also called ‘kantjes’ because the patterns of waves and dots resemble lace. The object has model 39 and is in good condition. There are two small hairline cracks visible on the back. The lower ring also has two small flea bites. The bowl is signed with a monogram SL or LS, of which the artist is not known.
