Description

This Gouda pottery vase has a beautiful ‘kantjes’ decor with blackberries, yellow blossoms, thin brown branches and leaves. The P-decor (number 243) is also characterised by the coloured shapes, in different shades of green and red, with wavy motifs. That is also where the word kantjes comes from, because the fine patterns resemble lace. This vase is 24 cm or 9.4 inches high and 10 cm or 3.9 inches wide. The vase, model 90 was made by the Dutch pottery factory Zuid-Holland from Gouda in the period 1908-1917. The object was painted by Cornelis Hornis, as you can tell by the monogram at the bottom of the vase (CH). There you also see the factory logo and the reference to the model and the decor: 90/243. The vase is in very good condition. No damage is visible.
I have other objects with the same decor elsewhere in the store.
