Description

This wall charger was made by the Dutch pottery factory Zuid-Holland from Gouda in the period between 1908 and 1914. The object is 27.3 cm or 10.7 inches wide. This is model 5 from the Gouda pottery factory. The wall charger is painted with a ‘so called ‘kantjes’ decor with thistles. Kantjes can be translated to ‘little lace’ and refers to the patterns of wavey lines and dots in the painting. The details are beautiful, such as the green leaves and the spider web. A great example of a decor that shows the transition period between P decor and NP decor of the Gouda pottery factory. The wall charger was painted by Charlotte Delchambre. At the bottom of the plate you will see the logo of the Zuid-Holland pottery factory and the signature of Delchambre. The wall charger has some light damage to the edges. There are several spots of glaze damage visible along the rim, but they are barely visible on the front of the object.
