Rozenburg Long and Slender Vase 10 inch from 1897

Description

This long and slender vase from the Dutch Art Pottery Factory Rozenburg from The Hague, the Netherlands. The object is 26 cm or 10.2 inch high and 6.5 cm or 2.5 inch wide. It has a symmetrical and floral decor of grey coloured flowers against a brown, lilac and cobalt blue background. The vase is well signed with the factory logo, the year mark for 1897 and the work order number 863. The model number is engraved in the vase: 354. It is unknown who painted the vase. The vase is not in a very good condition. Two small chips are visible under the foot and the neck of the vase has once undergone a restoration. Unfortunately, the paint used for this has discoloured. So you see a light turquoise band on the neck in the lilac background. But… Fortunately, the vase has a very nice good side left, where the damage is not visible.
