Rozenburg vase, model 331, painted with a decoration of lilies by Roelof Sterken

Description

This vase was made by the Dutch pottery factory Rozenburg from The Hague in 1898. It is model 331, a vase with a wide, rounded belly and a narrow neck. The vase is 27.4 cm or 10.8 inch high and 20 cm or 7.8 inch wide. The vase is painted with a decoration of lilies in a colour combination of brown and ochre yellow. At the bottom of the vase, the background has a blue-green colour. The pattern of dots and circles around the neck is striking.The vase is well signed with the logo of the Rozenburg factory, the stork, the work order number: 192 and the year sign of 1898: the crown. You can also see the signature of the painter Roelof Sterken: RS. The vase has undergone a professional restoration because the neck was broken. The restaurator did a wonderful job, because it is absolutely invisible.
