Description

This vase was made by the Dutch pottery factory Zuid-Holland from Gouda in the period between 1901 and 1905. The bottle-shaped vase is 27 cm or 10.6 inch high and 12 cm or 4.7 inch wide and is painted with a P-decoration with blackberries and blossom. The vase has various colour areas that are painted on the white biscuit, which consist of fine thin lines. This is a typical element of the P-decoration, which is also called ‘kantjes’. You can also see a graceful swirling pattern of brown branches, yellow blossom and purple blackberries. The vase is signed with the words: Made in Zuid-Holland, the decor type: P/b and the signature of the painter MS (unknown). The vase is in a neat condition. The neck is intact, only the underside of the foot has a few chips, which are not visible on the front.
