Description

This Gouda pottery wall charger was made in the period between 1908 and 1917. The object was painted with a so called NP decor. NP stands for New Porcelain. This decor is numbered: 245. The decor has purple flowers and red and purple buds on a background of green leaves, which are made up entirely of super thin lines. This decor is also called ‘kantjes’, which translates to ‘little lace’. The wall charger was painted by Frederika Sanderus, a painter who worked at the Zuid-Holland pottery factory in Gouda from 1898 to 1923. The wall charger is size 6 and has a diameter of 32.4 cm or 12.7 inches. It is in good condition. There is a tiny flea bite on the edge.
