Vase from Holland Utrecht with an Egyptian decor with peacock and flowers

Vase from Holland Utrecht with an Egyptian decor with peacock and flowers, model 97, made between 1896-1905.

Description

This antique vase was made and hand-painted by the Faience and Tile Factory Holland from the Dutch city of Utrecht. The vase is painted with a beautiful decor with a peacock and flowers, inspired by Egyptian influences. The colour combination of blue, yellow and turquoise is beautiful. And the interplay of lines in white and very dark blue is striking. Especially on the side of the vase you see elegant patterns, so recognisable for the Art Nouveau period. The vase is 28 cm or 11 inches high and 19 cm or 7.5 inches wide. It is model 97, a model that was also used by the Gouda pottery factory Zuid-Holland. The vase is not dated, the production period is between 1896 and 1905 (the period when Holland Utrecht made decorative pottery). The vase is in excellent condition.
