Description

This vase was made by the Dutch Rozenburg pottery company from Den Haag (The Hague) in October 1897. This is model 430, a vase with a broad body and two large handles that form a sharp 90-degree angle from the top of the neck. The vase is painted in a beautiful floral decor in blue, green, and brown tones depicting poppy pods. The painter is W.F. Haas, as can be seen from the signature at the bottom of the vase. The factory logo is also located there: Rozenburg Den Haag and the stork. And the work order number: 924. The year mark is not legible, but the production year 1897 was found associated with this work order number in the work order books preserved in the Municipal Archives of The Hague. The vase is 31.5 cm 12.4 inches high and 21 cm 8.3 inches wide and is in excellent condition. There is no damage to restorations—except for a little firing flaw on the inside in the neck.
