Description

This vase was made by the pottery company De Distel from Amsterdam in the period 1895-1904. This is model 70, a vase with a wide base and a flared neck, flanked by two pointed handles. The vase is 25.7 cm (10.1 inch) high (including handles) and 13 cm (5.1 inch) wide. This is model 70. The vase is decorated with an abstract design featuring blue, green, brown, beige, light blue, and pink tones. The vase is clearly signed with the factory name: Distel, a reference to the model and decor number: 70/5, and the signature of an unknown pottery painter: GN. The vase is in a neat condition. A tiny chip on the rim of the neck has been restored (see photos), and both the base and the neck have some firing imperfections.
