Very Large Gouda Pottery Art Nouveau Vase 17 inch

This early Gouda pottery vase has an impressive height of 43 cm or 17 inch. A real eye-catcher, not only because of its stature but also because of the beautiful floral pattern, a combination of tendrils, chalices in an elegant colour scheme. Art Nouveau through and through. The vase is 15 cm or 6 inch at its widest point. The vase was made in Gouda at the Zuid-Holland plateel bakery in the period 1899 – 1904. The vase is in good condition, but the neck has been restored. There you can see that part of the neck opening has a different patina. The object has been professionally restored, the difference is hardly noticeable with the naked eye. Also on the base you can see the professional restoration of two little chips. The vase is signed. The factory logo is faintly visible on the base of the vase. Signs that point to the year of production or painter are unfortunately illegible. This ceramic vase from Gouda is an early example. The model number is clearly visible: 208. This large model Gouda pottery is very rare and you rarely see it on the market.
