Description

This vase was made by the Faience and Tile Factory Holland from the Dutch city of Utrecht between 1895 and 1904. This is model 171, a short vase with three prominent arms that taper beautifully to a point. It is painted in a colourful palette of yellow, orange, red, and lilac. The object is 16 cm high and 16 cm (6.3 inch) wide. The vase is clearly signed with the Holland Utrecht factory logo: the oak leaf with the JM, the signature of director and owner Jan-Willem Mijnlieff. You can also see the model number 171 scratched into the bottom. The letter K and the numbers 386 may refer to work order numbers. The vase is in good condition. One of the arms was broken, but it has been very neatly restored. The damage is no longer visible.
