Description

This lidded vase was made by the Dutch pottery factory De Distel from Amsterdam, on April 6, 1899. It is model 29, a vase with two striking ears and a small lid. The vase is 34 cm or 13.4 inch high and 18 cm or 7 inch wide. The vase has a beautiful decoration with light lilac coloured carnations, against a floral background in green, yellow and blue tones. The vase is in perfect condition. The lid is also intact. Although there is a strong suspicion that it was made on a much later date, because the lid is much heavier than comparable lids (see elsewhere in the store a comparable model with a decoration of red flowers). These vases often have the original lig missing, and this made re-made. The vase is well signed with the factory name: Distel. The model number: 29, the decor number: 10, the production date: April 6, 1899 and the signature of the painter: GW.
