Description

This pair of vases was made by the Dutch pottery factory Zuid-Holland from Gouda between 1907 and 1908. This is model 72, a cylindrical design with a bulge above the foot and a narrowing at the neck. The vases are 30.5 cm (12 inch) high and 15 cm (5.9 inch) wide. This model is very rarely seen on the market. And there are two of them! They are painted in a Gouda decor with purple pansies. The swirling patterns of green leaves against the black background, with vibrant yellow colour patches, is beautiful. The painter is Leendert Muller. The vases are in neat condition. One of the vases has a small imperfection on the neck. The other has had a restoration on a chip on the foot. Because this is a mirrored pair, the vases are not sold separately.
