Description

This lidded pot of antique Rozenburg Pottery was made in 1890. This date is set without a doubt, because on side of the pot is decorated with a date: July 8, 1890. The lidded pot was made as a souvenir for the 47th meeting of the Dutch Association for the Promotion of Medicine, held in The Hague. On the other side of the little pot you see the coat of arms of the city of The Haque: the stork. The lidded pot is 15.5 cm or 6.1 inches high and 8.5 cm or 3.3 inches wide. The object is also painted with flowers. The pot is signed with the factory name Rozenburg and the reference to the meeting mentioned above. Both the pot and the lid seem to be in a good condition, but have probably undergone restorations in the past. However, these are invisible. A nice object for collectors, especially because of its history.
