Description

This vase was made by the Zuid-Holland pottery company from the city of Gouda in the Netherlands, in the period between 1909 and 1914. It is model 298, a bottle-shaped design with a wide belly and a long, elegant neck. The vase is 21.3 cm or 8.2 inches high. The vase is painted with a NP decor or a ‘kantjes’ decor with thistles and imaginative figures, like the decoration in the shape of an eye on the side. Very intriguing! The Gouda pottery vase was painted by Frederika Tiesema, who worked at the Gouda pottery factory between 1908 and 1914. The vase is well signed on the bottom with the factory logo, the words: Zuid Holland Gouda and a reference to the model: 298 and the decor: 331. You can also see the signature of Frederika Tiesema (FT). The vase is in excellent condition.
