Description

This wall charger was made by the Dutch pottery factory Zuid-Holland from Gouda in the period 1900-1904. The object is 27 cm or 10.6 inches wide. This is size 5 from the Gouda pottery factory. The plate is painted with a typical ‘Gouda’ decor with purple chalices against a green background. The typical Art Nouveau style elements, such as the whiplash motifs, are striking. The wall charger is well signed with the factory logo, the words: Made in Zuid-Holland Gouda and the signature of an unknown painter: R. The object is in good condition. No damage or restorations were observed. The rim is also completely intact. The only exception are two small chips on the base ring at the bottom of the plate.
