Description

This ewer was made by the Dutch Pottery Factory Rozenburg from The Hague (Den Haag) in 1901. The object is model 393, a ewer with a square foot and a square belly, ending in a round neck with ear and snout. The ewer has four panels, each painted with a wonderful decoration of birds. You can clearly see the influence of designer Willem Hartgring, who was known for his bird decorations. You see two swallows on a branch on two sides. On the alternating sides you see a decoration in which a swallow flies away. Between the panels with birds you see lovely little flowers. The ewer is wel signed with the factory Logo: Rozenburg Den Haag. The symbol of an ant (year mark for 1901) the work order number: 198 and the signature of Willem Hartgring: H. The arrow is for another (unknown) artist who contributed to this design. The object is 29 cm or 11.4 inch high and 14.5 cm 05 5.7 inch wide and in a wonderful condition, without traces of damage or restoration.
