Description

This antique ewer was made by the Rozenburg pottery factory from The Hague in The Netherlands. Year of production is 1902. The design is model 394, an object with a square belly, which ends in round shoulders, on which rest a short beak and a small round ear. The vase is painted on all four sides with a polychrome floral decor with purple flowers. The colour combination with red and bright yellow on a dark blue background is beautiful. The ewer is 19 cm or 7.5 inches high and 12 cm or 4.7 inches wide. The ewer is well signed on the bottom with the factory logo, the stork, and the factory name: Rozenburg Den Haag. You also see the symbol of the sun, the year sign for 1902. On the other side we see the signature of Jan van der Vet, who painted the object. The ewer has some irregularities in the glaze near the beak and at the top of the ear. Apart from that, the object is in very good condition.
