Description
This vase was made by the Dutch pottery factory Rozenburg from Den Haag (The Hague) in August 1896. This vase is model 379 and measures 28 cm or 11 inch in height and 14 cm or 5.5 inch in width. The vase is painted like a cheerful bouquet full of spring flowers. You see daffodils and lilies of the valley, surrounded by green leaves, against a brown background. The vase is painted and signed by J. Francken. On the bottom of the vase you see the logo of the pottery factory: the stork and the words: Rozenburg Den Haag, the work order number: 703, the year letters: NK and Francken’s signature. The vase has some damage to the foot, where there is a large crack (neatly glued). This can be restored very well professionally and invisibly. Due to the rounded belly of the vase, and the small width of the foot, the crack is not very disturbing.
