Rozenburg vase, made in The Hague in 1897 and painted with a floral decor. The object is 17,5 cm or 10,8 inch high.
Description
This beautiful Rozenburg vase is painted with a floral decor on which the plant ‘bleeding hearts’ or ‘heart flower’ can be seen. The decor is painted in a colour scheme of red, green, beige and light blue. Dark green leaves are painted on the base of the vase and small white flowers on the neck. A beautiful piece of Rozenburg pottery of 27.5 cm or 10,8 inch high and in perfect condition. The vase was made in 1897 and manufactured by plateel bakery Rozenburg in The Hague. The vase is clearly marked with the year mark #K for 1897. The vase is engraved with two V’s, which presumably refer to a painter, possibly J.L Verbeek Wolthuys.
