This is an early example of Art Nouveau Pottery from the Amsterdam Based factory De Distel. The vase has two ears near the neck and was made around the year 1900.

Description

Dutch Art Nouveau Pottery van the Amsterdam based factory De Distel from the year 1900. This glazed earthenware vase is painted with a floral decor in green, brown, blue, ocher yellow and turquoise colours. It is an early example of the Amsterdam pottery factory De Distel. The vase is marked with the name of the factory: Distel and a model or work order number 27/4. You can also read the monogram GH, of which it is unknown who painted it. The vase is 20 cm or 7.8 inches high and 14.5 cm or 5.7 inches wide. It has two ears, near the neck. These are both still intact. The vase of Amsterdam pottery is in good condition. There is a small chip on the bottom and a piece of glaze is missing at the bottom of the neck (see photo). The glaze also has some imperfections here and there.
