Description

This beautiful Art Nouveau Period vase was made by the Rozenburg factory from The Hague in the Netherlands, probably around the year 1895. It is painted with a decor of plants, flowers and lizards, in a beautiful colour palette of brown, green, brick-red and dark blue. Striking contrast are made up by the the frail white flowers on the neck and the foot of the vase. The object is 28 cm or 11 inch high and 13 cm or 5.1 inch wide. The vase is signed with the logo of Rozenburg (the stork) and the place name The Hague. Unfortunately, the artists mark is illegible, as is the work order number. So it is not clear who painted the vase. The vase is in good condition. The neck is perfect, however, some pieces of glaze are missing on the belly of the vase. However, this is not a big problem because all these little spots disappear into the brown background. The vase does have some chips on the bottom (under side of the foot).
