Description

This vase of Dutch Gouds Pottery was made in the period 1907-1908 and produced by the Zuid-Holland pottery factory from Gouda. The vase is 11 inch or 28 cm high and has model 92; a slender vase with a short neck. The vase was painted by Hendrikus Houdijck, who worked at the Gouda pottery factory from 1898 till 1905 and then from 1907 till 1912. The vase is signed by him with a monogram consisting of two H’s. The bottom of the vase also shows the model number and decor number: 281. The vase has a beautiful decoration of irises and white flowers on a background of dark turquoise. Striking are the combination of green leaves, in typical Art Nouveau whip motifs and color areas, consisting of thin yellow lines. The vase is in excellent condition, there are no visible damages or restorations.
