Description
This vase was made by the Dutch pottery factory Zuid-Holland from Gouda between 1900 and 1907. It is model 157, a design with a rounded belly and a thin, narrow neck. The vase is 17.5 cm high. It features a floral design with purple flowers and green leaves against a deep, dark blue background. It is strikingly charming due to its typical Art Nouveau style elements. The painter is Piet Woerlee. The vase is well marked with the words “Made in Zuid-Holland,” the logo of the Zuid-Holland Gouda pottery factory, in the shape of the Lazarus gate. It also bears Woerlee’s signature: PW. The object is in perfect condition.
