Description

This vase was made by the Gouda pottery factory Zuid-Holland from the Dutch city of Gouda in the period 1908-1914. It is 13.3 cm or 5.2 inches high and 7.6 cm or 3 inches wide. The vase is painted with a NP decor of flowers and leaves. Typical elements of the NP decor (also called ‘kantjes’) are the green dots, orange stars and curls and the yellow and green-yellow color areas, which consist of wavy lines. The NP decor was designed in 1908 by Willem Hartgring. The nice thing about this decor is that it is different from every side. The decor on this vase was painted by Agata Boot. This is clearly visible from her signature (AB) at the bottom of the object. There you will also see the factory logo (the gate) and the words: Zuid Holland Gouda. You don’t often find this model on the market and it is also in a good condition apart form a tiny hairline on the rim.
