Description

This vase was made in November 1898 by the Rozenburg pottery factory from The Hague in he Netherlands. This is model 419, a vase with a broad base featuring ridges, tapering into a narrow neck. The vase is 18 cm or 7.1 inch high and 7.3 cm or 2.9 inch wide. The object is beautifully painted with a floral decoration of yellow flowers against a brown background. The background on the neck features a pattern of dots. The painter is Verbeek-Wolthuis. On the bottom, the vase is clearly signed with the marks of Rozenburg The Hague. You can also see the stork: the factory logo, a crown: the year mark of 1898, and the work order number: 1247. The signature of Verbeek-Wolthuis is very faint, but legible. The vase is in a neat condition. There is a small chip on the rim of the neck (see photo).
