Description

This antique vase was made in 1897 by the Rozenburg pottery factory from The Hague in The Netherlands. It is model 270, a sturdy vase with a wide flared base and neck around a rounded belly. The vase is 29.5 cm or 11.6 inches high and 19 cm or 7.5 inches wide. The vase is painted with a beautiful decor with flowers and two frogs or toads in a beautiful colour combination of brown, green and yellow. The Rozenburg vase was painted by W.F. Haas. This can be seen from the signature on the bottom of the vase. There you will also see the logo of the Hague pottery factory: Rozenburg Den Haag, the year mark for 1987: #K and the work order number: 407. Also striking are the stickers that were stuck to the bottom of the vase, probably by a previous owner or dealer. The vase was once worth 6,900 Dutch Guilders (those were the days!). The vase is in excellent condition. No damage or restorations were observed. The only imperfection is a small piece of glaze that is missing (production error) at the foot. This is barely visible.
