Brantjes Purmerend, vase model 1030 with floral decoration on a yellow background

Description

This vase was made by the Dutch pottery firm Wed. N.S.A Brantjes & Co. from Purmerend in the period 1895-1904. This is model 1030, a vase with a broad body and a narrow neck. The vase is painted with a floral decoration featuring grey flowers, presumably daffodils, against a bright yellow, dark green, and dark brown background. The object is 22 cm or 8.6 inch high and 14.5 cm or 5.7 inch wide. The vase is well marked on the base. You can see the words: Faiance de Purmerende Hollande. You can also see the model number: 1030, the decoration type: Dec C, and two ‘B’s. One is presumably the year digit for 1896 (second year of production), the other is presumably the signature of Bernard Boeziek. The vase is in neat condition. In the past, two chips on the neck and the base were restored. Nothing of that is visible to the naked eye.
