Description

Tall, wide and heavy. This extensive vase was made by Dutch pottery factory Rozenburg from The Hague in 1904. The vase is 34.5 cm or 13.6 inches high and 32 cm or 13 inches wide. This is model 428. The vase is painted by Jan van der Vet. You see a decor of orange-brown parrot tulips, a well-known theme of Van der Vet. In the background, very graceful patterns have been applied with green, black and turquoise lines. The vase has a deep, cobalt blue background, which is especially visible on the neck and ears. The vase is well signed. You see the logo of the factory: Rozenburg Den Haag, the work order number: #32, the year mark for 1904 (the flag) and the signature of Jan van der Vet. The vase is in excellent condition except for a tiny missing piece of glaze on the base ring.
