Description

This pair of vases was made by the Dutch pottery factory De Distel from Amsterdam in June 1899. Two tall vases with a curve above the foot that widens into the trumpet-shaped neck. They are 29 cm or 11.4 inch high and 14 cm or 5.5 inch wide (at both foot and neck). The vases are painted with a beautiful decoration of stylized dandelions. These are painted in yellow on a brown and dark blue background. This is model 94 from the Amsterdam based pottery factory De Distel. The vases are well marked. You can see the factory name: Distel, the model number: 94 and the date of production: June 5 and June 7, 1899. The vases have two signatures: Fm and GH (both still unknown). The vases are in a neat condition and have both undergone professional restorations to the foot and neck in the past. This can only be seen with ultraviolet light and not with the naked eye.
