Description

This tiny vase is only 9.5 cm or 3.7 inches high and 5.5 cm or 2.1 inches wide. Although it is very small in size, it has a beautiful decor with a butterfly on one side and a flower on the other. The vase was made on December 6, 1909 at the Rozenburg pottery factory in The Hague. We found this in the work order books that have been preserved at The Hague Municipal Archive. There are also three names: Brusse, Marijn and Swaneveld in the work order books. Unfortunately, it is not possible to say with certainty who the painter is. The vase is well signed (on a one and a half centimeters surface) with the logo, the year mark for 1909 and the work order number: 626. The vase is not completely intact. The neck is missing a piece of glaze, the top rim has some small chips, just like the foot. But the damage is not disturbing, especially if you are a lover of miniatures, this is a really great example because of the beautiful decor.
