Rozenburg wall charger, 43 cm wide painted by Samuel Schellink in 1901

Rozenburg wall plate of 43 cm with decoration of irises painted by Samuel Schellink in 1901

Description

This wall charger was made in 1901 by the Dutch pottery factory Rozenburg rom The Hague. The plate is 43 cm or 16.9 inch wide and is painted by Samuel Schellink with a beautiful decoration of irises. The colour scheme is especially charming with a palette of yellow, green, browns and pink. In the background you see typical Dutch swan flowers. The object is in perfect condition. On the back you see the logo of the factory: Rozenburg Den Haag, the signature of Samuel Schellink (S), the symbol for 1901: the ant and the work order number: 821. The back also shows that this object has made quite a journey. It was once bought at the art dealer C. Basters in Rotterdam, sold by Christie’s and then became part of the Meentwijck collection. It is now part of my private collection. The dish is therefore not for sale.
